There were times when Amma even gave away gold earrings and bangles of her mother's in order to help those in desperate need. Although She was punished severely, Amma never would reveal that Her crimes were those of charity. Her compassion was unlimited and fought the bounds of Her material means.</p></font><p>Today, Amma has encouraged devotees all over the world to serve food to the poor.&nbsp; In 2006, the Asheville Satsang&nbsp;began serving food at the Homeword Bound shelter on the third Sunday of every month.&nbsp; This is a great opportunity for those who want to serve Amma by cooking and serving shelter residents.<br /></p><p>Contact Vimala at 251-0270 if you would like to help.</p>
